Time Trek
Maps That Move Through Time!

* * * * *

This is a product EVERYONE has been asking for! In partnership with TimeMaps Ltd of the United Kingdom, we are pleased to make available to you Time Trek - Maps that Move through Time!  Here are some of the requests we have been getting...

"I would like layered maps of one region. If each layer was a time period, you could easily see the history of an area."

"I would like to see an integrated online map program that allows you to overlay historical maps to show how geography lines (empire borders, country borders, etc.) have changed over time."

"I would like to have map overlays to show how countries have changed over the years."

"Here's my request... A program that allows the student to track progress of advancing armies or journeys or immigration patterns or religion spreads would help bring understanding to an increased level."

"I would like a book of maps that goes step by step through the time line so, as I teach each important event, I can show with ease and detail how the world changed."

"What I would like to see is an interactive, progressive, political map. What I mean is to be able to see how the political boundaries of countries/territories/states/etc. change with a simple click of the mouse while the former boundaries slowly fade away. To pick a time period and/or continent (or the entire globe, even) and then watch as the boundaries change before your eyes would be so relational!"

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have received such requests for a few years now. And we are now excited to tell you that these dynamic maps are now here!

So, what are Time Trek Maps exactly and how do they work?

The goal of Time Trek is to communicate history in a truly engaging way. To do this, we use a combination of timelines, historical maps and encyclopedic entries merged together to deliver authoritative content that can be digested in an enjoyable way. Time Trek Maps are computer software files that use Flash - a free program from Adobe. Maps are shown in chronological order at the click of a button and progress at your timing, showing how civilizations, countries and continents have changed over time. Quizzes and encyclopedic entries are included and can be turned on and off at your discretion. Time Trek is a work in progress with many Ancient and Medieval civilizations having reached completion with more historical topics on the way.
